Our Story

Tyler and Cambrie first “dated” in middle school — and by dated, we mean we barely spoke in person. Our entire relationship lived through text messages, lasting about two weeks before it ended… also over text. Thankfully, we stayed friends throughout high school (where Cambrie may have borrowed — okay, stolen — Tyler’s math homework more than once), bonding over lake days, Wisconsin sports, and whatever other shenanigans our crew got up to in little old Reedsburg. Junior year, our friends nominated us as prom dates (apparently we were “compatible by height”), and not long after, we realized there might be something more. We officially started dating a few months later and stayed together through college — even while attending separate universities. Traveling between Eau Claire and Madison was a no-brainer when we knew we’d see each other at the end of the road. Plus, hiking “the hill” was easier on Tyler’s back, and a night out on University or State Street was iconic with Little Mama (if you know, you know). Jokes aside, we wouldn’t change a thing — navigating the distance proved how committed we were and helped us build lifelong friendships along the way, more than we ever could have in one place. After graduation, we moved into our first apartment together in Green Bay — our first real taste of building a life side by side. We cheered on our Packers, tailgated like crazy, and discovered that “big kid” jobs mostly mean you can finally afford to golf. We even learned what keg ball was (who knew that was legal?). That journey eventually led us to Houston, Texas — a big culture shock for two small-town Wisconsin kids. In a city where the only thing more common than cowboy boots is taco stands, we’ve learned to love the rodeo, barbecue, and some of the world’s best food. It’s here that Tyler proposed and where we welcomed our first (very loved) dog, Nelly, into our little family. Along the way, we’ve learned we love a balance of adventure and simplicity. We prioritize time together — whether that’s skiing Vail’s legendary back bowls, slowing down to cook at home, or hosting friends and family. We lean into the culture of wherever we are, while still creating spaces that feel like home. The memories that matter most to us have been shaped by the people we’ve met and loved along the way, and we hope you’ll join us for the best one yet. Our forever starts August 14th, and we’re so excited to share our wedding day with you!
