Cam: Banff National Park and in particular Moraine Lake is an area that both of us had desperately wanted to travel to, years before even meeting. As it turned out, the banks of that very lake were to become the backdrop for a proposal that was more perfect than I could ever have planned it to be. We had a late dinner on July 11, 2017, and on the walk back to the lodge we went down to the banks of the lake. The sun had set and despite it getting dark there was still a little residual light, meaning that the ten mountain peaks surrounding the lake were reflected in its mirror-like surface. Nobody was around, the air was still and all we could hear was nature. Factor in one of the most stunning vistas on the planet, it really could not have been more perfect. Seeing Moraine Lake in itself was the goal of a lifetime, but for it to become such an incredibly special place in our history is indescribable. Fun fact: I was going to propose a few days before but didn't have the ring with me. It all worked out.
