While we held out as long as we possibly could, we eventually found ourselves making the difficult decision of postponing our wedding (a few times!) and finally settled on July 3, 2021. Our wedding celebration will now be hosted at the beautiful Joslyn home in Escondido, CA, following a small ceremony with our families. The event will be hosted mostly outdoors and overlooking a large open-air valley. We feel confident that the event can go on safely and we trust that each guest can make the personal judgement call on whether they feel it's the right decision for them to attend. We respect anyone who still feels uncomfortable gathering at that point, but we will miss you! ♥️ (see FAQ for more detail) Due to the current complications of traveling and hosting a fairly large event in Maui, we have made the decision to reel back and keep our ceremony at Haiku Mill limited to ourselves & our immediate families in November 2021. While it was not the original plan, we will be thinking of everyone in spirit. 🤍
Jenni & Cam first encountered each other in their 4pm Political Science class on what was also each of their first day of college - Jenni sat front & center and arrived ten minutes early. Cam showed up with five seconds to spare and loudly introduced himself to the whole room. Jenni blatantly rolled her eyes at the theatrics & Cam made it his mission to get to know the girl who already acted like she couldn't stand him. The next week, Cam deliberately took the seat right next to her in the very front. It was a hot September day, and his brilliant opening line was, "Are you hot in those pants?" Jenni, feeling amused, turned to him and replied, "I don't know, am I?" A casual date of iced chai tea lattes at Ryan Bros Coffee Co. was arranged... and the rest is history! ❤️
Jenni & Cam were having a blast on a European vacation, enjoying their first day traveling across Bavaria, Germany. Excitement bloomed as they anticipated their visit the beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau that day - a place Jenni had dreamed of seeing her whole life. On one of their first dates, she had told Cam it was her number one place she HAD to visit some day. Once arriving, Cam insisted upon hiking up to the Marienbrücke (aka Mary's Bridge) - a famous lookout above the castle where the view was apparently spectacular. However, it immediately began to rain - hard. Then they found out it was about a mile of an uphill hike to get there from the entrance. Jenni tried reasoning with Cam that they should just go straight to the castle to enjoy the tour and views from there, but Cam was adamant that the view from the bridge would be SO worth it... Soaked to the bone from the rain and panting from the unexpected hike, Jenni & Cam made it to the bridge. The view was absolutely stunning - picturesque. This lookout point is usually overrun with people getting the perfect photo... but because of the heavy rain, they had the whole bridge to themselves. Beneath them was a gorgeous waterfall in the forest and across the tops of the trees was a stunning feat of architecture straight out of a Disney dream. Under the mist of rain, basking in the beautiful nature around them, Cam got on one knee and proposed. It was the most magical moment of their lives.
