a day to remember

It all started in Downtown Indianapolis at a 5K race…yes, the kind where people voluntarily run for fun. We were both tricked (invited) by a mutual friend who clearly had matchmaking instincts. After the race, Calvin needed a ride home. Maya, being the kind soul she is, agreed. What was supposed to be a quick ride turned into a surprisingly great conversation, and just like that, we became friends. But the universe wasn't done with us yet. We kept accidentally running into each other at different events. Happy Hours. Trivia Game nights. A friend’s dinner party where we discovered a hidden speakeasy. Eventually, Calvin decided to stop leaving things up to fate and officially asked Maya out on a date. Our first date? Ramen and a haunted house. Sounds simple, but of course, it didn’t go according to plan. The ramen was delicious, the vibe was great… and the haunted house? Well, we almost went in. Maya got cold feet somewhere between the creepy music and the fog machine and gracefully chickened out before even getting to the door. Let’s just say, it made for a very memorable first date. We knew then that life together would never be boring. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of adventures…some spooky, some spontaneous, all special. From finish lines to forever, we can't wait to start this next chapter with each other and surrounded by the people we love most. Turns out, love really does go the distance ;)
