La Jolla Shores Beach
The closest beach to Estancia with views towards Scripps Pier and La Jolla. Windansea is another beautiful beach a little further away.
Balboa Park
Famous for its Spanish-style architecture, its botanical building, Japanese garden, museums, and of course - the San Diego Zoo. We live about a mile from here and love to bike and walk through the promenade.
Mount Soledad Memorial Park
Veterans memorial at the top of La Jolla with 360 views of the coast, mountains to the east, and downtown. Very scenic drive up and down.
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
If you're looking for some activity and scenic views, take a quick hike through Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve ($20 per car to enter, cash only). Not a strenuous hike, no serious footwear required.

Great brunch spot with an outdoor deck and ocean views a short walk to the cove where the sea lions and seals are.
