Calvin and Amanda met on the first day of class during Amanda's second year and Calvin's third year of law school. Calvin sat right next to Amanda, which ruined her plan to have the entire row to herself. It was fine though because their professor was known to never use a seating chart, so this would be the only time that Calvin and Amanda would have to sit next to each other. At the start of class, Calvin opened his laptop to watch the Cubs game, while Amanda opened her notebook to take diligent notes. Before starting the lecture, the professor told the class that he had decided to use a seating chart and he began to pass one around. Calvin did not have a pen to sign in though because he only had his laptop to watch the baseball game. He smiled at Amanda and asked to borrow her pen. Amanda was already annoyed because the game on Calvin's screen was distracting to her note taking. Nonetheless, Amanda reluctantly gave Calvin her pen to sign in. This exchange happened at the start of every class until, one day, Amanda asked Calvin what team he was watching on his computer. Calvin's face lit up because she had asked about his beloved Cubs. Amanda then told Calvin about Chelsea, the soccer team that she loved. A few classes later, Calvin asked Amanda out on a date. Calvin and Amanda's first date was at a Dave and Busters, where Calvin sat with his back to a giant screen with the Cubs game on because he did not want to be distracted on their date (Amanda thought that was very sweet). They had the best first date that either of them ever had, and they have been together ever since. Calvin and Amanda would like to give a special shout out to Professor Hirsch for using his first-ever seating chart in their Trusts and Estates class, and the waiter at Dave and Busters for kindly cleaning up Amanda's spilled drink while predicting that Calvin and Amanda would be together for forever.
