Adriana and I met in fall of 2018 at Hillsdale College through my magnificent sister, Molly Kate. MK asked me if I wanted to join her for lunch with one of her "bubbly friends." After a delightful hour eating less than delightful food, I dumbly continued my Adriana-less life with nothing but polite waves and a smile when we passed one another on campus. I got thrown another bone in my junior year in an accounting class. I wasn't exactly the most liked individual in this class. I was quarantined by a dirty snitch like four times and spent the majority of the class cut off from the outside world. However, my poor status did mean that when Adriana came in about 30 seconds before class started on the first day, there was basically only one seat left in the room; right next to me! My charisma knows no bounds. Adriana was delightful as usual and we were a fine pair of study buddies, banging our heads against the wall for the duration of the accounting class. For me, that semester was a bit of a blur. As mentioned, I spent much of it in quarantine. For Adriana though, this was the semester when she noticed me. That's right, I went for "sick and tired" as an opening move, and it worked like a charm. There was still no fog on the old mirror, but luckily, God is kind, and His provision knows no bounds (not even the unplumbable depths of my stupidity for not asking this cute girl out). Despite a great semester of conversation and study time, I did not in fact ask this cute girl out; we both went on to graduate, setting up lives in different states. The End. But not quite! In May of 2024, I did something never before contemplated in Calvin Andrews's Playbook of Picking up Chicks (trademark pending). I DM'd her on instagram. You see, for three years, Adriana's warmth and smile kept creeping up in my mind. "Man she was great. I wonder what she's up to?" This is what I would ask myself, and then I wouldn't do anything about it. Then, one day, I had enough! I used Instagram for the only good thing it's ever done and started a glowing conversation with the spectacular, the magnanimous, the lovely, Adriana Christina Maljanian. Things went so great over text; so, we decided to talk on the phone. Things went pretty well on the phone; so, we decided to meet in person. Most of you who know me know that this would be the true test of the relationship as I have one of the world's greatest faces for radio. But this too went smoothly. God's provision was clear and apparent throughout the first date and the first weekend, and the second visit, and each consecutive weekend we spent with one another. I fell hard for Adriana, and she kinda likes me too! We are very excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as we start our family on Colorado's front range. We are so excited to celebrate all the gifts of the Lord and to praise Him for His provision on June 21st. We hope to see you there!
