So... Matt and I never officially met. We were at our friend, Jessica's, birthday party, but did not speak to each other at all that night. Matt asked Jessica's fiancé, Thomas, "Who is that?" when I sat down on the couch next to him. Then, once Jessica found out Matt thought I was cute, she came up to me and told me ALL about it. Both Matt and I were too shy to say anything to one another and went the whole night without interacting with each other. It was like middle school all over again. Later that week, Jessica gave my phone number to Matt and the rest is history!
It was very important for me to get Christy's father's blessing for her hand in marriage. On a Friday night after work, I took Mr. Tanubrata out for a nice steak dinner. I was more nervous than I had ever been. Luckily, he is one of the sweetest men alive. He told me that I was the type of man that he had been praying for one of his daughters to marry, and his reaction calmed all my nerves and made me so incredibly happy. Later that evening, I jumped in my car and drove to San Diego to set up my proposal to Christy, the next day. With a waterfront view, at dusk, in Downtown San Diego I held Christy close, got on one knee, and told her I wanted to spend my life giving her all that I am, as a man. She single-handedly made me the luckiest man alive, that day.
