We wanted to take a quick little vacation before our busy season started. We planned a trip to Gatlinburg, and booked a cabin with a beautiful view! The first 2 days of our week, however, were already booked. So we decided to go to Nashville for 2 nights. We arrived Friday evening, and just hung out with Millie around the hotel. Saturday, we wanted to go out for a nice dinner, so we decided to take Millie to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in hopes of tiring her out (aka so she doesn't bark in the hotel while we would be gone). That's when the chaos started! Our hotel was valet only. So we requested our vehicle, and made our way down. After 5-10 minutes of waiting, Matt decided to just ask for his keys so he could run over to the lot himself. The valet then said "oh yeah, those are the keys I've been trying to find" - yup! they lost his keys! So after another 10 minutes, another valet came back with the keys, and we were able to make our way into the city. THEN, the first TN Vols football game of the season had just ended (they won, btw!), so the traffic was HORRIFIC. I said multiple times, let's just get out of here and go walk somewhere else, obviously not knowing his plan. Matt was panicking because he had hired a photographer, and we needed to meet him on the bridge for a certain timeframe. We FINALLY found parking, and I begrudgingly made my way up several flights of stairs.. apparently they close the elevator during football games. We started walking, and Matt pulled over to the side area with a lookout. I followed, looked, and kept on my way. He said "hey wait, where are you going?" So I walked back over and saw him fumbling with his cowboy hat ring box. My response was "wtf is that!?" Then it finally happened! He even pulled out a diamond necklace for Millie! We joked months ago that he should propose to both of us, and he did! I woke up the next morning feeling like I hallucinated the whole thing. But I didn't! It really happened, and we're so excited!
