Surprise! Our hearts couldn’t wait—we eloped!

Calvin and Stephanie first met at the ages of sixteen and eighteen during the SYEP summer program. These two young hearts, unaware of it at the time, were stepping into a story that would eventually come full circle. They dated, lived together for a few years, and created memories that neither time nor distance could erase. However, life eventually took them in different directions, and they parted ways to grow, learn, and live separate lives. What they didn't know—what only God could have orchestrated—was that their story was not over. Twenty years later, after living separate lives, they found their way back to each other. No longer teenagers fumbling through first love, they had grown into two whole adults: healed, grounded, and ready to rediscover the connection that had quietly lived inside them all along. Calvin had long felt the pain of losing Stephanie, always knowing in his heart that she was the love of his life. As they reconnected, Stephanie realized that the depth, comfort, and sincerity of Calvin's love were what her soul had been yearning for all these years. Being together again made it clear that no one else could be a better match for them than each other. Their reunion quickly blossomed into a love that felt divinely aligned—stronger, wiser, and more intentional than ever before. In autumn of 2025, they took a step forward and chose to be baptized together. They agreed that the foundation of their renewed union would be built with God at the center, using the Bible as the blueprint for their roles as husband and wife. Just two days later, Calvin and Stephanie held an intimate and private ceremony in New York City. With Cristina, Stephanie's second mother, and Amanda, Calvin's niece, who is more like a daughter, serving as witnesses, Calvin and Stephanie exchanged vows and entered into the sacred covenant of marriage. The ceremony was quiet, meaningful, and perfect. Amid this momentous season, they were also searching for a place to call home—a space to begin their new life as one. In November 2025, they secured a beautiful condo in Rockland County, marking the beginning of their journey as the newly united Mr. & Mrs. Cintron. Although they initially envisioned a grand celebration, their focus shifted to building their home and honoring their covenant with God. They still anticipate a future celebration with family and friends, looking forward to rejoicing with everyone who has supported, loved, and prayed for them along the way. Their story is proof that real love—God-ordained love—never dies. It simply waits for the right moment to bloom again.
