Travel Note
BEST OPTION: Street Parking. Guests may park on the street in the park and on side streets outside of the park for free EXCEPT on Overlook Drive. PLEASE READ SIGNS. We recommend dropping off guests with special needs right at the Lakeview Center entrance, and then parking on the street - it will likely be a 5 minute walk from where you park to the Lakeview Center/Wallace Bowl. Please plan accordingly. Main Beach Parking Lot (likely sold out by 5pm)- From Memorial Day weekend to October 15 a lakefront sticker or daily parking pass is required starting at 10 am everyday. Daily parking passes are sold on-site at the Lake Ave entrance gate, but will likely be sold out by 5pm. No cash is accepted; credit cards only. Overlook Drive - DO NOT PARK HERE. All year round a lakefront or a Village sticker is required. Violators of the parking regulations are subject to ticketing and towing. Please read signs. Regulations are strictly enforced. We don't want anyone's visit spoiled by a parking mistake! Train
The Wallace Bowl / Lakeview Center is a 10-15 minute walk from the Linden Purple Line Stop or a 3-minute Uber/Lyft ride. The last purple line departs Linden at 2:08am. Reception will end at 10:00pm, so there will be plenty of time to get back. We highly recommend for those physically able that you consider taking the EL. It's the Chicago way to get around, and you'll get to see lots of cool stuff along the way! It's easy to pay - just tap your credit card at the turnstile (easiest) or purchase a ticket at the Kisok when you enter the station. If your hotel is in Evanston: The Davis Purple Line stop is a 5-7 minute walk away from most Evanston hotels. Take the Purple line north to Linden (4 stops). Total commute (if walking) is 30 minutes. Davis Purple Line Stop. If you are commuting from Chicago: Take the Red line to Howard and transfer to the Purple Line. Take the Purple line to Linden. Commute will vary; use google maps set to "public transit" when mapping out your route. If walking: We recommend doing what us city-dwellers do and wear your walking shoes, then change into your fancy footwear when you reach the wedding venue. We are so excited to celebrate with you!
