Ever heard of that crazy online dating app called Tinder? Being homebodies, Tinder seemed like a last resort to the both of us to find and meet people, since the bar scene just wasn't our thing, and let's be honest - pick up lines in the gym are just plain creepy. We "matched" on February 28th, and began the awkward conversations of "how's college" and "what did you hit today at the gym?" After a week of learning about one another and a few phone calls later, we decided to meet up. Henry brought over movies, while Erica has the attention span of a fly, and Moe the puppy wouldn't let either of us talk for too long without stealing the attention. By the end of the night, we knew all about each other's favorites and dislikes, knew about each other's hometowns and families, and most importantly, knew that we wanted to see each other again very soon. From that day on, not another day went by that we didn't spend our free time together. Crazy enough, we haven't gotten sick of each other yet. Little did we know, this was only the beginning. The best was yet to come.
As most of you know, we decided to continue our relationship in a much warmer state. We packed up the belongings that could fit into a Honda Civic, packed up the pup, & drove 16 hours from Dublin, OH to sunny FL. Early in the morning on Sept. 11th, Hurricane Irma touched down in Clearwater. While we spent the previous days preparing - stocking up on water, nonperishable foods, and ripping our closet doors off the hinges to use as boards on the windows because Lowes ran out of plywood, Henry was also doing his own preparing. Around 12:15am, with a CAT 4 hurricane outside our apartment door, our two adventurous (maybe stupid?) souls went running outside to see what 80mph wind felt like. Henry asked Erica to go stand by a large palm tree that had already fallen to the ground so he could take her picture, where he proceeded to get down on one knee. "There's no one else in the world I would rather experience this hurricane, or life, with. This is something man can never recreate."
