Are there any travel restrictions for Costa Rica during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Answer

Currently all US citizens are able to enter Costa Rica. Visitors traveling to Costa Rica will need to provide proof of a medical insurance policy to cover any COVID-19 related medical treatment or quarantine lodging while in Costa Rica. https://tiendasagicor.com/en All visitors must also complete an online Health Pass (pasa de Salud) 48 hours prior to travel to Costa Rica. The Health Pass can be found at https://salud.go.cr. In addition to the coronavirus-related measures, U.S. tourists must also have a valid passport and proof of intent to exit Costa Rica within 90 days. What measures has the RUI resort taken to keep me safe?

Answer

RIU Hotels & Resorts has worked hard to create a total of 17 protocols, in collaboration with Preverisk Group, an international consultancy specialising in health and safety advice, auditing and training in the tourist industry. These safety and hygiene protocols act as a guide for hotel operations as they reopen post-COVID, giving details about each hotel department’s work and how they can apply the new measures in their daily work to offer the highest possible safety guarantees to all guests. The measures described in the protocols will change to adapt to developments in the situation and new knowledge, always in favour of the staff and customers’ health. How do I get a COVID test before my flight back to the USA, if I will be in Costa Rica for 3 days or less?

Answer

Option 1: complete covid test before you board to Costa Rica. The U.S. will accept a COVID test done in your state as long as your departure is within that 3 day window. Option 2 [Most Ideal] Schedule your Covid test to be done at the LIR airport. Choose the antigen test, cost is $65 per person. This is a rapid test. You must make an appointment. I recommend you schedule the test 1-2hrs after your flight lands. Don’t forget to notify your shuttle service so that they are prepared to wait. Option 3: Schedule an appointment for another day other than arrival date. The lab is 45 mins from the resort. The resort can assist you with transportation at a cost. If you are willing to risk it all you can schedule your test on your departure date but keep it mind it may take up to 3hrs to get your results. 😬 Use the link below to schedule a test. This is a send out lab and your results may take an entire 3 days to come back. What is included in the hotel rate?

Answer

All Inclusive always includes the hotel room, food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, taxes and tips. Depending on the package that your group decided on you may have airfare and airport shuttles part of your package.

Do I have to use a travel coordinator?

Answer

Our travel coordinator requests the rooms to be together and other small perks to make your stay comfortable. When booking with us, you're dealing with an expert in the US, so there's no miscommunication. In many cases, the group leaders are arranging something during your stay, and the reservations all have to be booked at one place to be valid. In order to secure the group discount, you'll need to book through Guest Services. If comparing rates, please make sure to add the round trip shuttles to and from the hotel (most sites do not include that in the rate).

How do I request a price match?

Answer

If you've found a package online at a lower price, contact your agent to request a price match. Bear in mind that all components must match exactly. We are able to price match the rates, but not the policies. Price matches must be requested at the initial time of booking.

Do I have to pay for my trip all at once?

Answer

No! One of the benefits of booking through Destify is that you can set up a payment plan. The earlier you book, the more flexibility you will have. Full payment will be due by 03/22/2021.

If I book a reservation now can I add someone later.

Answer

You can book your room today and add a person later in the future, but keep in mind the price may change in the future when you're adding someone to your room. Also the bride and groom need final guest count within 45 days of wedding in order to prepare accordingly.

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Since this is an international trip, you do need a passport valid at least 6+ months past your travel dates. Passport cards are not valid for international air travel. If you have a passport, be sure to check the expiration date. If you don't already have a passport, it is a good idea to apply early to be sure you receive it in time for your trip. Passports normally take 4-6 weeks to process. We suggest applying a minimum of 3 months in advance as a precaution.

Where and when do I get my boarding pass?

Answer

Boarding passes are issued 24 hours prior to departure, and can be issued online directly through the airline's website or picked up at the airport during check in. If airfare is included in your package, please check your travel documents for the airline confirmation code to check in. You should also print your itinerary that will be emailed to you prior to your trip for verification at the airport.

How do I get to the resort?

Answer

If you booked through the travel agent your transportation was included. Please make sure destify has your flight information by completing the form on the website. If any questions you can email: guestservices@destify.com If you book directly with the hotel then transportation is only $10. I recommend you call 1-888-774-0040 to add your transportation and submit your flight information.

Can I use American dollars?

Answer

Yes, but many resorts and stores won't take USD, so be sure to prepare your credit and debit cards. Call your bank and let them know the dates you will be gone. Charges made at the resort or elsewhere on your trip may be subject to a foreign transaction fee by your bank (normally 1-3%).

Bookings with check-in dates up to October 31st, 2021 can be cancelled or changed free of charge.
