Both we were semi fresh out of bad relationships and testing the waters via online dating because of the pandemic. Mitch would argue it was love at first sight but Becca did hold him at an arms length for months! We slowly built a friendship over a few months and shortly before Christmas Mitch finally asked Becca on date. Since it was still the pandemic and nothing was open we spent our first date was in Mitch’s truck, eating Jimmy John’s in a random parking lot. Luckily our dates got much more romantic after that! We spent time together afterwards camping, adventuring around Michigan and enjoying the great outdoors! Some of our favorite memories are buying our kayaks, Becca taking Mitch hunting for the first time and Mitch’s tempts to teach Becca about cars but mostly she just goofs around. We also bought our first home together and brought home our four legged child, Gunther! We enjoy our time together and love each other endlessly. We both agree that we are each other’s best friend, we balance each other out and bring out the best in each other. We are incredibly lucky to have a love like this!

So Becca actually knew that Mitch bought her ring because Mitch is terrible at keeping secrets! He accidentally let it spill the night before Thanksgiving and Becca laughed because she thought he was messing with her. Come to find out he was serious! Becca made Mitch promise to not tell her anything else because it was bad enough that she knew he had the ring and she wanted the rest to be a surprise. Mitch made it up about a month later after helping Becca’s family set up her Grandpa’s Christmas decorations. Becca’s Grandparent’s farm is one of Becca’s favorite place and where she spent many summers and days after school. Becca’s Grandma had unfortunately passed unexpectedly just after Becca and Mitch met. Mitch wanted her to at least be there in spirit so the farm was the perfect place to do it. After bugging Becca for probably 20 minutes to take a picture with him in front of the Christmas tree she grumpily agreed. She just asked for it to be a quick picture because she was hungry! Lucky for her she finally gave in because Mitch got down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree! She actually thought he was joking and had to ask if he was serious and if he had asked her parents. After about a 100 “holy craps” she said yes!
