Some people have it all planned- the "whens" and the "hows" of life. Some call it their life plan. Well, when Kara and John met that vision of perfection was redefined. Suddenly, they questioned everything they once knew. Their story is anything but the quintessential love story. In fact, they were first neighbors, then friends, and eventually something much more evolved after a very challenging and emotional road. Still, his very presence ignited her soul. He won her over with his charming demeanor and love for music. They both loved nature, hiking, and writing. They spent their time sharing ideas, poetry, music, and always thirsting for adventure. In time, they realized that before they found each other, they were just existing. Together, they made something more- something real, raw, and beautiful. After a very few short months together, they welcomed their son into the world in October of 2014. If there is anything that could test the foundation, patience, and true intentions of a relationship, it is raising a child in this crazy world. Two quickly became three and as time went on, their relationship stood the test of time. As these two prepare to wed, they are excited to continue to nurture and grow their love. Kara and John invite their family and friends who have shown their endless love and support along the way, to witness a celebration of love and life in the romantic, spiritual setting of Sedona, AZ.
During a spontaneous trip to Sedona for Valentine's Day, John made arrangements for the three of us to stay at the Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa. Valentine's Day came and went and I wasn't expecting anything! The morning after, we were all casually walking across the hotel courtyard and John hesitantly exclaimed, "Wait!" I playfully responded, "C'mon we need to get to breakfast. I'm hungry!" Then I noticed his trembling hands as he dug out a ring box from his pocket and there it was...the moment! He got down on one knee and proposed. My eyes swelled with tears and I took in the essence of what was occuring. As I held Xander on my hip and looked down at the man I loved, asking me to marry him, I proclaimed, "Yes, of course!" It will go down in history as one of my favorite moments.
