COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update: We are monitoring the situation closely with the goal of providing a safe celebration with our family and friends. Nothing will be more important than the well-being of all involved. Should a change of plans become necessary, we will be in touch by email. We appreciate your understanding and support!
Question

Are wedding celebrations still on schedule for May 1, 2021?

Answer

Yes! We have decided to move forward with officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. Lilley on May 1, 2021. We are hopeful we will be able to host our family and friends in New Orleans to celebrate with us, provided we make sensible safety modifications. Due to the dynamic nature of COVID-19 though, the possibility remains that we may need to make changes to our guest list based on evolving circumstances in New Orleans and across the country.

Question

What will be asked of guests to ensure a safe celebration?

Answer

We will kindly ask each guest to follow these safety protocols: (1) Obtain a COVID PCR nasal swab testing 3 days before traveling to New Orleans if you have not yet been fully vaccinated. If you have been fully vaccinated (2 weeks after second dose) you do not need to get a COVID test prior to the weekend (2) Wear a well-fitted mask during all wedding events, and keep it on at all times during travel and touring in New Orleans, except when eating and drinking at socially safe distances (3) Get a COVID vaccination as soon as one is available to you

Question

What event modifications have been made to improve safety?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will now be held at Marché, a 4,000 sq. ft. elevated river-front venue that has multiple French-style, floor-to-ceiling doors, which will be open to provide considerable ventilation from breeze off the river. Our celebration will continue at the reception, which is to be held outdoors at The Old Ursuline Convent Museum gardens. A quick two block walk from the ceremony at Marché, the Ursuline Convent grounds has an allowed occupant capacity considerably greater than the number of our invited guests, affording ample room for social distancing. Finally, we have made the decision to cancel our Friday night welcome party to limit indoor socializing.
