Sophie dragged Callie to just one bar for a drink after dinner. Lucas was out for dinner and drinks with a few friends. There was no reason to think this Friday was any different than any other. Cousin talk and an early night in downtown Palo Alto. A couple of guys watching sports and having drinks on a Friday evening. Thankfully the lines were long and Lucas ran into Sophie (an old friend of a friend) while the two groups waited outside. In order to speed up the wait time the two groups thought to join. Some drinks and appetizers. A few more drinks and conversation about autonomous cars, tech companies, Bay Area problems. Another Bar. Some Ice Cream Maybe a third bar? (very rare for Callie!) Then Callie was gracious enough to drive the boys home. Lucas didn't have the guts, the lingo, the game, or the time, to say something so he sent a Facebook message. "Here's my number 805-xxx-xxxx. Just in case that's something you could use." Thankfully Callie checked her Facebook. Thankfully she responded. Thankfully they set up a real first date, or we wouldn't be here at all!
