Newport
Newport is great for those who love history. I recommend spending a day here and touring one of the many Newport Mansions while they are still decorated for Christmas. There are many great restaurants in the area as well. Just remember to bring your iPass or whatever electronic toll system device you may have to pay the bridge toll!
Mystic
Mystic is another small, popular coastal town located in Connecticut. The area is great for shopping and dining, or even checking out the seaport museum.
The Lobster Trap Tree
If you make your way to Mystic, stopping in Stonington at the Lobster Trap Tree is a must. It is made out of 378 lobster traps and 360 hand painted buoys by professional artists and community members. It is a unique and fun experience for all!
Tree House Brewing Company - Charlton
Treehouse is known for their great IPA's. It is a bit out of the way, but none the less a great brewery to experience.
Trillium Brewing Company
One of our favorite breweries to stop at if you are adventuring around the Boston area.
Quincy Market
If your travels lead you into Boston, I highly recommend spending a day in this amazing city. Quincy Market located in Faneuil Hall is a great place to get a wide range of different foods and there is also plenty of shopping. It is also in close proximity to other great places that Boston has to offer! Remember to bring an iPass or whatever electronic toll system device you may have.
