Jack and Callie first met in the early 2000s at a summer camp in their hometown of Webster Groves. They were around 9 or 10 years old, and though Callie might not openly admit it, she had an instant crush on little Jack Kemper. After that summer, they would occasionally call each other on their home landlines (cute, right?) As the years went on, they attended the same middle and high school and ran in similar friend circles. Whether it was at friends’ houses, high school parties, or cheering each other on at their lacrosse games, they seemed to cross paths again and again, their worlds continuing to overlap. Eventually, they each went off to their respective colleges, but even then, they continued to stay in touch, beginning a story that would only grow stronger with time. Flash forward to the summer of 2022, when Jack and Callie finally went on their first date. Callie was in town for the weekend, and after Jack had persistently (and successfully) pushed to take her out the next time she was home, they made it happen. It was an absolute blast. They picked up right where they left off, like old friends who had simply been living their separate lives for a while. For Callie, everything felt completely natural, just like home. With Callie still living in Kansas City at the time, the two quickly fell into a rhythm of back-and-forth trips between KC and St. Louis to see each other. After a couple of months, Callie started thinking about moving back to St. Louis, where she always knew home was. When she asked Jack what he thought, he immediately replied, “You absolutely should!!!!” with, of course, a few extra exclamation points. Later that fall, Callie made the move back to St. Louis, and their relationship kept growing. Together they explored South City, moved in together, found their favorite happy hour spots, cooked plenty of meals side by side, and celebrated holidays with each other’s families. They even tried fostering a dog, which quickly turned into adopting one. Then, during a Kemper family vacation to Turks & Caicos last year, Jack popped the big question during golden hour on the beach. The proposal completely caught Callie off guard and left her utterly surprised, and if you have seen the photos, you know! Now they are beyond excited to begin this next chapter together and cannot wait to celebrate their big day with their closest friends and family!
