We’re getting married!!

We first met at a music festival called "Electric Forest" through one of Matt's Groomsmen (Thanks Mike!). We got to spend a few days getting to know each other while listening to music and dancing with one another. At the time, Calli lived in Tampa, Florida, and Matt lived in Southeast Michigan. It wasn't until 3 months later when Calli moved back to Michigan that we would see each other again. Matt was having a party at his house and invited Calli over. Even though there were a lot of people at the party, we spent the entire night together. The night ended up in Royal Oak where we did some more dancing and even had our first kiss!

The proposal took place on a Saturday morning in Lexington, MI. We were at the Stencel family cottage with both our parents and Matt's sister, Gina. Matt told Calli that we should go downtown to show his family the shops and take a walk on the pier. Calli was totally oblivious to what Matt was planning and took her time popping in and out of every shop. Eventually, we all made our way down to the end of the pier. Matt asked Calli to take a picture together. When we turned around to pose, everyone had their phones out ready to record and take pictures. Matt got down on one knee and asked Calli to marry him. Calli said YES! The two families went back to the cottage to celebrate. When we opened the door at the cottage, Calli was surprised when her nieces and nephews popped up from behind the couch to congratulate us!
