What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Answer
As we join together in the Sacrament of Matrimony before the Altar of God, we kindly request that our guests dress in a manner befitting the House of God as is customary in the Catholic Church. Women and girls should please dress in a modest fashion with their heads covered. Some veils will be provided for those who do not have one. We kindly request that you refrain from wearing short skirts or sleeveless and low-cut dresses. Men and boys should not dress in casual or recreational clothes. We greatly appreciate your cooperation. Thank you!

Your Nuptial Mass is in Latin, what if I do not know Latin?
Answer
Not a problem! This Traditional Latin Mass is for everyone, even those who have never been to a Mass in Latin. Booklets with the Latin/English translation will be provided so you can follow along. We also encourage you to just be …and quietly soak in the beauty of this liturgy, even if you have no idea what is going on.

What is the weather like at this time of year?
Answer
Average temperature is a high of 79 degrees F and a low of 59 degrees F so wearing layers you can take off and put on is recommended.

Will the reception be outdoors?
Answer
Yes, so wearing shoes that won’t sink in the grass, bringing bug spray, and having extra layers in case it is a cool evening is recommended.

What do we do after Mass?
Answer
After Mass head on over to the reception at Knights of Columbus Park, located at 19699 Shawnee Mission Parkway. To get there from Shawnee Mission Pkwy (West of I-435) turn South onto Midland Dr. then a quick right onto Lawrence Rd. The entrance to the park is on the right. Look for the festive decorations on the fence and gate! Once there, and after a priest arrives to say a blessing, drinks and snacks will be served until the bridal party arrives. Welcome to the celebration!
