We’re gathering at Portico — a charming mix of indoor & outdoor spaces tucked inside the Awbury Arboretum in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood. It’s lush, green, and just the right amount of wild. You’ll be surrounded by late-summer blooms, dappled sunlight, and the kind of energy that only shows up when good people get together to celebrate something special. The venue is accessible, but some areas are covered in grass or mulch, so plan your footwear accordingly (leave the stilettos at home unless you’re feeling very bold). Basically, it’s going to feel like the last great garden party of the season — and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Our dress code is Funky Fun Floral Cocktail Attire. Think cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, or flowy outfits in bright colors and bold patterns — florals are highly encouraged! For suits: skip the dark and serious stuff. Instead, go for lighter, livelier looks — summer suits, patterned blazers, or tailored pants with a colorful or floral shirt. Ties are optional, but a fun accessory (like a pocket square or standout shoes) is always a win. Since everything’s happening outdoors, please choose footwear that can handle a little grass or gravel. The vibe? Joyful, colorful, and a little playful — while still looking polished. If you’re dressing with personality and style, you’re doing it right.
Yes! We secured a room block at the Aloft Philadelphia Downtown. More info is available on the Travel page.
Good new! There is parking onsite at the arboretum. When you arrive a parking attendant will guide you on where to park and then it is a short walk up to the house. If that walk is too far we have a drop off zone at the front where you can be let out before the rest of your party goes to park.
The venue is a quick 30 minute trip from Philadelphia or 1 hr 10 minutes from the Lehigh Valley. For those staying in Philly you have the option to Uber to and from the venue if you choose. Check out the Travel tab to get access to your Uber voucher provided by the couple to help cover the cost. Note: at the end of the night Ubers can take a while so it is recommended to call it or schedule in a bit before you plan to leave.
We will start welcoming guests at 4:00 PM with light refreshments before the ceremony begins promptly at 4:30 PM. From there we will host a cocktail hour, dinner and reception with everything ending at 10 PM.
This is an intimate affair with the people that we are closest to. We’ve already made a lot of hard cuts (congrats on making the list!). Those listed on the invitation and in the RSVP process are the people we have chosen to invite. Unfortunately we cannot extend additional invitations. This is a 21+ event.
Having lived on our own for the past few years, we had amassed nearly everything we needed for our home. As such, we request very few boxed gifts. Ultimately, your presence is the greatest gift.
