Having a boyfriend or a girlfriend in the seventh grade, you don't think they will actually end up being your forever. Looking back, we remember that I was actually dating his best friend before I ended up with him. Once together, we shared quite a few firsts together, like our first real kiss. The big one though was being each other's first love - you know which one I am talking about right? The kind where we constantly passed notes between classes, wanted to be with each other nonstop, and doodled "Caleb's girl" & "Mrs. Tabatha Beam" all over things. Oddly enough, we still have those notes and hope to share one or two with you at the wedding. Being young, we also shared those immature ways of handling feelings and arguments which eventually lead to break-ups, but never out of each other's lives for too long. We stayed in contact even after I moved to Oklahoma, but it grew to be less and less as the years passed. Every so often we would both be single and connect again, flirting and making each other laugh until the connection was lost once more. Nine years passed and we had reconnected again, now both adults with our own jobs and lives. After several weeks of flirting, we decided to reunite with the group we hung out with in the seventh grade. Around March 15, 2016, we all met for drinks first, but eventually went to an arcade and out dancing. I guess we can be a little cliche here and say that after Caleb realized he still had some feelings for me, the rest was history.
Exactly three years after reuniting, Caleb proposed in front of the Bellagio Fountains in Vegas with "Luck be a Lady" by Frank Sinatra playing. So now here we are, four years after the reunion, engaged and planning a wedding. We have grown together and learned how to do better as a couple and as human beings on our own. We have a home in Tucson with our three dogs: Skye, Demi & Charlie. I was able to celebrate with him as he finished school, and he celebrated with me as I played softball and complete my Associate's Degree. We are now supporting and celebrating one another as I have started my first year teaching and he does the important, and confidential, work at Amazon. We are getting closer, and are becoming more excited, so I just want to say as I said when he proposed, "I get to marry my best friend, I am so stoked!" We love being able to share some of our story with you and cannot wait to share our special day with you.
