Flying into Lombok (Option 1 - minimal ferry time)

Fly into Lombok from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or other domestic Indonesian airports: From Lombok airport to Gili Air: approximately 1 hr 15min drive + 10 minute speedboat to Gili Air. Flying into Bali Denpasar (Option 2 - 20min drive + 3 hour Ferry to Gili Air)

Upon arrival in Bali, you will need to get a taxi / Grab to the ferry terminal in the South of Bali: Serangan Ferry Terminal. Road travel time approximately 20 minutes. The more premium fast ferry "Bluewater Express" leaves from Serangan port, and stops at each of the Gili's, dropping you directly at Gili Air. Ferry travel time approximately 3 hours. We strongly recommend booking your ferry well in advance, and booking Bluewater Express.

Flight

Flying into Bali Denpasar (Option 3 - 90min drive + 2 hour Ferry to Gili Air)

Upon arrival in Bali, you will need to get road transport to the ferry terminal on East side of the island: Padangbai Ferry Terminal. Road travel time approximately 90 minutes. Private Road Transport Bookings: Gede Private Driver Whatsapp: +62 878-6170-4758 There are many ferries leaving from Padangbai daily, which stop at each of the Gili's and will drop you directly at Gili Air. Ferry travel time approximately 2 hours. We strongly recommend booking your ferry well in advance, and booking on one of the "Fast Ferries": Bluewater Express is the most comfortable, followed by Eka Jaya Fast Ferry.

Visa Requirements

Most foreigners will require a Visa on Arrival when entering Indonesia. Please review the website above for further details for your nationality. Most ports provide a Visa on Arrival service. You will need to pay IDR 500.000,00 at the Visa on Arrival counter before passing through customs. We recommend bringing either IDR or USD with you as most ports will not accept credit cards.

Cash / Currency

We strongly recommend bringing some local currency (IDR) with you to pay for boat rides / local transport / local food etc. Most restaurants accept credit cards on the island. There are 2 ATM's available on Gili Air. However they do at times run out of cash therefore advisable to have some IDR with you on landing.
