The Battery
The Battery in Charleston is a fortified seawall and promenade stretching along the shore of the Charleston peninsula. Take a walk along the water with beautiful historical homes to admire. White Point Garden is just around the corner.
White Point Garden
Continue your stroll along the Battery into White Point Garden, a beautiful and shady park. This is where we got engaged!
Joe Riley Waterfront Park
The pineapple fountain never gets old to us! We love walking to the waterfront park and relaxing either on a park bench by the fountain or on a swing on the pier.
Rainbow Row
On Broad Street, you can find these colorful homes all in a row. They sit along the Battery which is the peninsula side of Charleston, directly on the water.
Charleston Sole Walking Tours
Roughly a 2 hour walking tour, it takes you from the Old Exchange building through many historical sites downtown.
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens
Located about 25 minutes from the venue, these historic gardens with bridges, a Victorian styled home and walking paths are so fun for any age. Tickets are roughly $50 per person.
South Carolina Aquarium
Fun for families and directly on Charleston's wharf so you can also watch the boats. Tickets are roughly $35 per person.
Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Anyone seen the Notebook? It was partially filmed here - featuring an old cotton dock, historical mansion and farm lands. Tickets are roughly $40 per person.
Downtown Charleston
Spending the day exploring downtown Charleston by shopping along King Street, house-seeing, and walking through the Charleston City Market while stopping along the way for snacks and cocktails is a day well spent!
