Our Story

Our story began thanks to my college roommate (thanks Savannah), who knew him from high school. From the very beginning, there was something special. He introduced himself in the parking lot of Savannah's apartment complex as I was getting ready to head back home from Starkville. Looking back, I know that moment was meant to happen. I was immediately struck by how genuine and kind he was. When he arrived for our first date at the Zoo Lights with roses in hand and opened my car door, I knew that I had met someone truly special. It took him a couple of months before asking me to be his girlfriend- but when he did, it was the day after my birthday, in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. It was simple, sweet, and so perfectly us. From there, our journey together began, filled with laughter, growth, and countless memories. We navigated long distances, celebrated college graduations, and supported one another through every season of life. Not long after, our relationship was tested in a way neither of us could have imagined. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis before our first anniversary, and suddenly, life in that moment changed for both of us. There was a time when I couldn’t walk, talk, or use the right side of my body, and due to Covid restrictions, we were apart for nearly a month. Yet through it all, he remained steadfast- his loyalty, humor, and endless kindness never wavered. Years later, he surprised me once again. Believing I had won a photoshoot at the Dixon Gardens, I had no idea what was truly about to happen. Surrounded by beautiful blooms, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Moments later, my family appeared to celebrate with us, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. Nearly five years later, we stand on the threshold of a new chapter- thankful for the journey that brought us here, for the love that has carried us through every trial and triumph, and for the future we cannot wait to build together as husband and wife. Above all, we know our story wouldn’t be what it is without God, whose plan has guided us from the very beginning.
