Caleb grew up in Hooper and I in Hay- two tiny towns just a few miles apart as the crow flies. We both went to school at Lacrosse and graduated two years apart. We never really spent time together as Caleb spent his after-school time working in the shop or helping his dad farm and I spent mine doing extra curriculars. We started spending time together, almost by chance, when I was a sophomore in college, and we wondered what had taken us so long. Now we're getting hitched!
Caleb proposed after 2 1/2 years together. We had just gotten done working calves that day and had dirt and manure up to here. We had a quick family dinner back in Lacrosse and all of a sudden he dropped to one knee. My ring- finger never looked so good- who says manure and diamonds don't go together? He said, "if we can get through a whole day of working calves without killing each other, we're a perfect match!" I laughed. Mom cried. The rest is history.
