We had always known of each other, but had never talked or spent any time together until our first date. That night, we went to a Mexican restaurant right beside the apartment complex we both lived in, and stayed there talking like we had been together for years. Then, as if a 3 hour date wasn't enough time, we stood out in the parking lot for another 30-40 minutes talking, mostly due to me stalling not wanting the date to end. A hug and finger guns later, Caleb knew. A few dates and a trash bag balloon fight later, I knew.
Things that matter: God and family. In that order. Caleb had always known I lived my life by that and truly made it the best day ever. That morning, with both families there, Caleb was baptized. Afterwards we all decided we needed to get some decent pictures made of everyone, so we went to a park near the church. During a picture of Caleb and me, he got down on one knee. After some unnoticed nodding, I yelled "I said yes you fool!" And in just a few hours, the two most important things in my life collided.
