Our Story

Our love story has been such a testimony to God overlapping our paths when the time was just right. We are so incredibly excited to get to share this moment with you all!! Despite three years running on the same cross-country team, we never managed a conversation with each other, and as Caleb finished his senior year, he was looking for a place to run his final season and get his masters. Instead, the Lord orchestrated his path right back to Lee, where our paths finally crossed. A fateful Strava DM and some instagram messages in the early summer of 2024 led to a stream of conversations back and forth between our Alabama and Ohio hometowns. Near the end of July, we had mutual friends coming up to Ohio for a soccer game, and I offered for Caleb to come visit. Since he had a concert the night before in Atlanta, he offered me the invitation right back. On August 2nd, 2024, I drove the 7.5 hours down to Lee in Cleveland, Tennessee to spend time with Caleb for the very first time. We left from Cleveland to catch Cage the Elephant in Atlanta, GA 2.5 hours away (despite neither of us knowing a word) and the night ended late as we traversed back to Cleveland. The next morning brought an early run and driving to Ohio to catch the soccer game, another 7.5 hours in the car together. The Lord calmed nerves and sparked conversation in a way that made every moment peaceful and memorable. I watched him meet my family, and the very first date ended with him making the drive back to Lee. The date is marked by our first conversation face to face, coupled with 1,531 miles driven and 11 hours in the car together. Little did we know that would become one of our favorite hobbies together. Between weekdays training and weekends racing, our dates were filled with stargazing, little hikes, quiet trips to the lake, and trips to see everyone we love. Savannah, Columbus, Abington, Myrtle Beach, Cullman, Atlanta, and countless others— each trip brought new memories, learning curves, coffee shops, and many more car conversations. As cross country season passed to our track days, we got to finish strong and cheer each other on. As those days passed, we began to realize that our lives would hopefully intertwine forever. The summer brought a series of blessings and dates across the states. I graduated college, came down to Cullman, AL to see Caleb, then not long after, we arrived in Charlevoix, MI where we both qualified for the Boston Marathon. Texts crossed oceans while my family traversed Iceland, and we reunited once more back in Tennessee, the place where it all began. August 2025, I began medical school in Johnson City, Tennessee at ETSU. Caleb started his final year of his Masters in Business Administration as he began his new job. We settled into our routines and the time continued to pass. On November 28th, my family, along with Caleb’s brother and sister-in-law and their two girls, made our way to cut down our Christmas tree at a tiny place in Sunbury, Ohio. Following a tree selection and some hot chocolate held by our frozen fingers, the snow began to softly fall. Caleb took my hand and as we began to walk through the trees, it became real. He got down on one knee, and in one moment, it was the happiest day of our lives. There are so many more bits and pieces, but we are held by three truths. God has been so gracious to this testimony. It is humbling and joyful to be in love. We are so honored to celebrate with you all soon.
