Janey and her friend Elyse were visiting a friend from college, Acacia. They were visiting Winter Garden Florida for a few days and had plans to go to St. Petersburg after. The night before they were going to leave, their rental car company bailed on them! When they got the news they were at a get-together with Acacia's friends from church and she told her friends about the dilemma. Caleb happened to be at the hang out and when he heard, he knew he was going out of town the next day for his sister, Hannah's wedding. He was moved to generosity and let Janey and Elyse borrow his car - classic Caleb! They kept in touch after this interaction. They shared stories with one another and bonded over their love for God. At the time, Janey was living in Arizona. Caleb came to visit her a few months later. It wasn't the right time for them then. 2024 In Summer, Janey and Caleb reconnected, again encouraging one another in their faith, and sharing stories of what God had been teaching them lately. It was clear they were a great match, but again, it wasn't the right time. That fall, Caleb and Janey both had nephews born within weeks of one another. They shared some texts about this. It ended on a cliff hanger when Caleb sent Janey a voice message that she didn't listen to until after Christmas. When she listened to it and finally responded, Caleb had coincidentally landed in Northern California, where he was visiting his sister, Hannah, his brother-in-law Danny, and their two sons. Too bad they weren't in driving distance of one another! Caleb, like the extravagantly fun guy he is, offered to fly down to see Janey. When they spent together this time around, it was clear the timing was right. 2025 After pursuing one another intentionally for a few months both knew that God was making it clear he was drawing them together forever! In the Spring Caleb started looking at rings and Janey started praying about moving to Florida. By Summer both were confident and excited to commit to one another and start their joined lives in Florida. Mid July while Caleb and Janey were spending time together with family and friends in California, Caleb sat down with Ron and Amy, Janey's parents and asked for their blessing. That weekend with Janey's great grandma's ring, given by Ron and Amy, Caleb proposed at Catalina Island. It was a romantic and comedic evening as the sun was setting Janey lovingly and wholeheartedly said YES!! Now Janey & Caleb are both living in Florida preparing not just for January 10th, but for a life long covenant that imperfectly shows the love of God and how much he loves his children! 2026 Thank you for not just reading, but playing a part in our story!
