Gabbi, a Colombian living in Newport Beach, met Caleb, an American living in Baltimore, on September 4, 2023, at a surf camp. Caleb was in California for job training, and what started as a simple introduction quickly turned into coffee at Moongoat and a full day spent talking and getting to know each other. That same day, Gabbi met Caleb’s dog, Azula, and soon after, Azula met Gabbi’s dog, Archi. The two dogs became instant best friends, just like their owners. From then on, Gabbi and Caleb saw each other every day. Being together felt easy and natural from the start. When Caleb’s training ended, they chose to try long distance. Over the next several months, they traveled back and forth, spent holidays together, and continued building their relationship. In April 2024, they moved to Seattle. Soon after, unexpected changes with work and visas led them to make a new plan: beginning a new chapter together in Spain. In August 2024, they moved to Valencia to build their life side by side. Once settled, Archi joined them and Azula, and their little family was finally all in one place. What started as a chance meeting turned into a life they’ve built together, one decision at a time.
