What airport do I fly into?

The closest airport to Tamarindo is Liberia International Airport (LIR), also known as, daniel oduber quirós international airport. Liberia airport is 60 minutes from Tamarindo-Langosta.

Do I need a passport to go?

Answer

Yes! You will need a passport that is valid over a month after the trip to Costa Rica.

How does money work there?

Answer

While credit cards (visa) are accepted almost everywhere, USD are accepted most places, if you decide to exchange some currency to colones, do it at the bank due to exchange rate, it is best there. American Express is not accepted in most places of Costa Rica.

How do I get from the airport to Tamarindo?

You can rent a car, take a taxi, or use a shuttle service. Many hotels in Tamarindo also offer airport transfers. There also are many companies that offer book-ahead airport transfers to and from the different locations of Tamarindo-Langosta or any other areas you like to visit while in Costa Rica. Will my phone work in Costa Rica?

Check with your local provider for phone options. Some carriers will have international plans included and others that you can purchase ahead of time. You can also opt to not get an international plan and just use your phone via wi-fi connection.
