It was early October 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida State football was in the middle of a legendary run and Luke Bryan was coming to town. While they both attended the Luke Bryan concert, neither of them actually spoke to each other. Veronica spotted Caleb when their groups merged, but was too shy to introduce herself. Which might have been a good thing considering Caleb was actually there to impress another lady! Eventually though, thanks to the help of some mutual friends, they were finally introduced at a Halloween Soirée. They hit it off that evening and spent the next few months getting to know each other. Fast forward to their first Valentine’s Day. Caleb prepared a spread of homemade pizzas, a tradition they continue to this day, 8 years later. It was this evening where Caleb first asked Veronica to be his girlfriend, this turned out to be the first of three attempts. The perseverance was worth it! As graduation approached, Veronica took a job in NYC while Caleb finished his last semester in Tallahassee, and a year of long distance began. While the time apart definitely made their relationship stronger, they really loved being together a whole lot more. They went straight from a year of long distance to living together in their first Brooklyn Apartment. They spent the next 6 years living in Brooklyn playing rec-league kickball, enjoying all the awesome food and drink the city has to offer, and getting out in nature upstate. After a while though they felt like something was missing from their life. They needed to take the next big step in millennial parenthood. Along came the greatest little pup, Marcy! She has been the best companion for the last three years. As time moved on, many around them begun to wonder if domestic partnership was more plausible than a wedding. That all came to an end on April 2nd, 2022 when Caleb made Veronica and Marcy hike to the top of Storm King mountain to pop the question! The rest is history.
