Caleb and I officially met on July 3rd, 2014 after being introduced at our middle school by one of our bridesmaids, Lexy. Five days later on July 8th, our parents dropped us off at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark for our first date. Later that day, Caleb asked me to be his girlfriend as we were floating in the lazy river. Now it's 7 years later, we have traveled to Hawaii twice, and have many more adventures planned.
We have always made it a point to be on a beach for our anniversary. Usually we take a quick trip to Galveston or Corpus Christi, but for our 7th anniversary (July 8th, 2021) Caleb told me that he was going to take me on a trip to a surprise destination. He let me know when we were going to be gone and kept the rest a secret (even though I had my suspicions). On July 5th we flew to Oahu and began soaking up all the Hawaii we could. On the third day, our anniversary day, Caleb told me we had a photoshoot on a private beach. We arrived and as the photographer was distracting me with some solo shots, Caleb was writing a message in the sand. As the photographer had me turn around I saw Caleb down on one knee. I was so excited to get to him that I didn't even look down, and stepped in his "Will you marry me?" note. We spent the rest of the sunset frolicking through the ocean in our dinner clothes, on a beach completely to ourselves, on the tip of Oahu. That was the moment we have been imagining since we were 13/14 years old, and I'd say it was executed perfectly.
