What is the dress code?

We'd like everyone to dress in cocktail attire for the ceremony/reception.

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We would love to celebrate with everyone but due to venue space constraints, we are unable to include children at the wedding. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Guests have multiple transportation options available. They can drive themselves, take a shuttle to and from Hotel Fort Des Moines, or use a rideshare service. Shuttle will run back and forth starting at 4. The shuttle will only hold 12 so please plan accordingly. Additionally, at the end of the evening, the DJ will announce shuttle departure times back to HFDM, ensuring a safe return for all. FYI - cars are allowed to stay at Rollins overnight.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There is plenty of parking available at the venue. Guests are welcome to leave their car in the parking lot overnight and use one of our other transportation options to return to their hotel.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Guests can arrive as early as 4:30 prior to the ceremony at 5:00 PM

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We are hosting the ceremony and reception outdoors. During cocktail hour, guests can explore the grounds and inside the beautiful Rollins Mansion. In the case of inclement weather, we will be moving everything inside.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Typically, weather in Des Moines this time of year ranges from 55-75 degrees. Fingers crossed we have a beautiful day!

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

Guests can enjoy an open bar during cocktail hour. The staff at Rollins Mansion have a great menu planned for dinner starting at 6:30. Late night bites will be provided before last call.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! The bar is open for guests while supplies last. Don't forget to bring a little cash to tip your bartenders.

Should gifts be brought or sent ahead of time?

Answer

Thanks for all your generous gifts! While there will be an area at the venue for guest to leave gifts and cards, we encourage using our wedding registry to send gifts ahead of time.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

Answer

Please include any dietary restrictions with your RSVP. You can also reach out to the bride and groom directly. We will make sure the kitchen is aware and accommodating.
