FAQs

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our events on Saturday are going to be adults-only so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. Children are welcome for Friday's events. For childcare arrangements please reach out to the wedding planner (alyssa@gloriousweddings.co).

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For Friday's events, we will be celebrating some Indian traditions and encourage guests to wear Indian attire if they have it or dress brightly in festive dresses, skirts, shirts, and/or slacks. Saturday the dress code is formal. Suits and cocktail dresses are requested though gowns and tuxes are welcome too.

Question

What is the weather like in DC during April?

Answer

Unfortunately, this doesn't have an easy answer. April weather in DC can be unpredictable. The average high for mid-April is 65-70 and the average low is 45-50. We suggest you pack a coat and be prepared for rain.

Question

Will the ceremony be outside?

Answer

Yes, weather permitting. So please prepare with a coat or jacket if you tend to be cold in 50-60 degree weather.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Will there be any vegetarian options?

Answer

Yes! We plan to have a vegetarian option for each night.

Question

Are phones allowed at the ceremony?

Answer

No. We kindly request that guests do not have their phones out during the ceremony since we've paid a fantastic professional photographer and want her to be able to capture all the shots she can unimpeded. Please also have your phone on silent.

Question

Am I invited to both Friday and Saturday events?

Answer

Yes! Every adult is welcome to attend both our Indian celebration and rehearsal dinner on Friday, as well as the American ceremony and reception on Saturday. Kids are welcome to attend Friday's event only.
