Our Story

Who knew ghosting someone would turn into an entire life together?

Caitlynne's Side Before I met Nick, I was completely fed up with the dating world. I was ready to take a break for a while, but on a whim, I decided to download Hinge one last time and see what happened. Little did I know, I was in for a very big surprise. The same day I made my profile — fully expecting nothing good to come from it — I matched with Nick, and we immediately started talking. He was so different from anyone else I had met. We even argued over who was the bigger Disney fan (cringe, I know). After a few days of talking, he asked me out on our first date, and I agreed. On May 22, 2021, he picked me up and took me to dinner. It ended up being one of the best dates I’d ever been on. He was so sweet, so genuine, and honestly, I kept thinking there was no way someone could actually be this nice. I wasn’t used to being treated that well. We barely even touched our dinners because we spent the entire night talking and laughing nonstop. After he dropped me off, I immediately called my friend and told her how weird it was that he was so nice. Then, in true self-sabotaging fashion, I told Nick we should just be friends. I genuinely convinced myself there had to be something wrong with him. There was no way a guy could really be that amazing. And after saying that… I completely ghosted him. I figured I was protecting myself from getting caught up in something messy. Fast forward to October 2021. I couldn’t stop thinking about him all summer and kept telling my family how this guy I went on one date with kept randomly popping back into my mind. Eventually, they convinced me to text him. I was so nervous he wouldn’t respond — honestly, I deserved that after ghosting him. But he did respond. I apologized, asked if he’d be willing to give me another chance and go on another date with me, and somehow, he said yes. A few years later, and a huge move to a different state, Nick proposed February 2, 2025, and after realizing we were tired of waiting to officially be married, we decided to elope on October 17, 2025. Now we get to celebrate all over again with all of our favorite people — and we couldn’t be more excited!

Our Story

It all started with an app named Hinge…

Nick’s Side We matched on Hinge and from there we went on our first date! I remember I was low on money but, I had a $100 dollar bill that I was saving because it was an older bill. I thought “Oh well, I hope she is worth it.” So I asked her on our first date to Spaghetti Factory. She tried to cancel on me because her car was in the shop but I pushed her, I wasn’t going to take no for an answer and she finally agreed. That first date was amazing, we spent the whole night talking and didn’t eat a bite. We aligned so well. I truly believed I found my match until I was friend zoned… then ghosted, and I thought if it’s meant to be then she will come back. Months went by then, one day I got a text and guess who it was? The friendzoner/ghoster! But we chatted for a bit and by the end we agreed to another date. This time I was going to take her on the best date ever. We went to the Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and after that we were inseparable. Life threw us curveballs and challenges but we overcame them all. We ended up moving over to Utah to start our own family. In February 2025, I took her back to the area of the Disney Family Museum. Overlooking the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, I popped the question in the same place we had our “second first date”, and she said yes! We decided to elope in October 2025 and are now getting ready to celebrate it all with you guys. Can’t wait!
