For the wedding of

Ian asked me out after church about two months after we first met. We went to one of our now favorite restaurants in St. Charles. Our sweet waiter got confused and didn't take our order for over an hour, which left a lot of time for small talk. So much small talk. I immediately asked him many detailed questions on all of the subjects Devin specifically requested he not bring up on our first date. After the initial few seconds of shock following the words, "MK Ultra" he happily answered (most) of my questions. After dinner, which ended unexpectedly late, Ian eagerly exclaimed that he had a surprise for me. We quickly arrived in downtown St. Louis. He parked the jeep and turned to me saying, "so I didn't realize we would have to get out of the car to do this." We got out, locked the car, and headed down an alley beginning our "Streets of St. Louis Scavenger Hunt". We wandered all around downtown for about two hours. It was an exciting adventure to say the least. Everyone was very friendly. One guy even offered to sell us his chain!! Around 11 I made sure to text my whole family so they knew I had intentionally gone into the city and had not in fact been kidnapped. We got back to St. Charles around 11:30 pm and then sat in the car and continued talking for about another hour. Our first date lasted almost six hours with zero awkward silences or forced niceties. I left that first night blissfully intrigued. More importantly with reassuring confirmation from God that this one was something special. Something made to last.
