We met back in 2000, swimming for the West Chicago Sharks club swim team. Although we each had secret crushes on each other, God had plans for us to learn and grow through the following years. Throughout the following years we saw each other occasionally at swim events, but it wasn't until July 4th of 2017 that God thought we were ready for each other! The next two and a half years were full of driving back and forth between Michigan while Caitlyn was in Grad School, and Wisconsin during Caitlyn's Residency (thanks Shane for being such a trooper), and then finally living in the same state. Lots of adventure, memories with friends and families, and growing closer as a couple filled this time. And then Shane asked Caitlyn to spend the rest of her life with him... and she said YES! We got married with family and our bridal party on August 14, 2020 and due to the pandemic we didn't get to celebrate with everyone like we had dreamed of. That is why we will be renewing our vows and having our reception on July 30, 2021!!
