In 2010 the Egyed family started attending the church I grew up in. Little did I know that the new students in youth group would one day be my new family. Peter and I were good friends but never more than that. After he graduated in 2012 his family moved back to the Pittsburgh area but as high school friends we drifted apart with the distance. Three years later, a profile picture change on Facebook and we reconnect. Less than two weeks later he traveled the three hours we would now do on a regular basis to see if the spark we had over the phone and text messages was real. It took some convincing as it would be a long distance relationship and we knew it would not be easy. But that same weekend he came to visit we made it official and started dating. We did two years of long distance while waiting for me to finish school. Most months we saw each other at least once but it was still one of the most difficult things we've ever done. Two days after I graduated from college my family and his packed me up and I moved to be 15 minutes away instead of the dreaded three hours. After 5 years on one of our annual vacations to Atlantic City, NJ he got down on one knee with the ocean behind us and my sister there to capture the memory. Now we are planning the day that will begin the rest of our lives together and we CANNOT wait!
