As many of you know, we were initially planning to get married in the fall of 2021. With Caitlyn working in politics, 2020 felt like an unreasonable time to be planning a wedding. And then COVID happened. The last few months have shown us that life is short, unpredictable, and doesn't slow down for anyone or anything. So why put our marriage on hold? We talked - with friends, with family, with random people who confused Kotei for Idris Elba. And it became clear to us that more than anything else, we want to be married. We might not have the pomp and circumstance that we planned for (at least not yet!) but we're so excited to start the next chapter of our lives. That said, we'll be having a very small wedding with just our immediate family and bridal party this year. When the world decides to right itself again and everything is safe, we'll be having a much bigger celebration so we can share our love with all of our family and friends. This was a hard decision to ultimately make, but we know that this is the best one given our circumstances. So thank you. Thank you for being an important part of our lives. Thank you for understanding. And we can't wait to celebrate with you when it's safe!

We met during a game night at a friend's house in the fall of 2014. As Caitlyn will tell you, she was immediately interested in Kotei & began subtly trying to pursue him. As Kotei will tell you, he was clueless - for an entire year! It wasn't until the fall of 2015, during a night out dancing, that Kotei finally got the hint. We went on our first date later that week & both knew immediately that this was something special. Five years later, we've gone to 12 weddings, taken many vacations, and shared countless memories along the way. We can't wait for what comes next!
