Caitlyn & Jonathan

    Our Story
    Wedding Party

Wedding Party

Forever By Our Side — From Childhood To Wedding Day Bliss and Beyond Long before we met, fell in love, and devoted ourselves to each other as the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. we had our crew. Our besties … the people we could share life with — good, bad, or indifferent — and count on no matter what. These are our siblings, cousins, and old little-league friends. Some are former bandmates, college roomies, and colleagues turned forever friends. There are a few former Texas Darlins sprinkled in, and, yes, others who were and still are flat-out goofballs. Yet we couldn’t do life without them — then or now. Naturally, our special day wouldn’t be complete without these amazing people by our side. Furthermore, this day is just as much about them as it is about us. After all, they got us here in their own unique way. And for that, we are forever grateful.

Caitlyn

Bride

Caitlyn Ashley is a small-town girl whose Denton roots go back five generations. She graduated from Guyer High School and completed her undergrad at the University of Texas in Austin before earning her Juris Doctor degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth. She currently owns her own practice, Caitlyn Ashley Law. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and, yes, being surrounded by Boston Terriers. She fosters Boston Terriers, getting them healthy and happy before finding them a forever home.

Jonathan

Groom

Jonathan Allen is from Mesquite and comes from a wonderful blended family that includes one brother, two step-brothers, and one step-sister. He graduated from Mesquite Horn High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Audio Production from The Art Institute in Austin. He is a supervisor of collectibles quality control (professional cartoon watcher) at an entertainment company called Crunchyroll, formerly Funimation. Jonathan is a his-tory buff. He loves traveling, reading, grilling and smoking meat, deer hunting, and fishing. He also plays the guitar.

Jennifer Salazar

Matron of Honor

Growing up as cousins, and less than two years apart in age you’d think Caitlyn and Jennifer were inseparable. But Jennifer didn’t always appreciate having her little cousin around. In fact, rumor has it that she routinely forced Caitlyn to stay in the guest room alone during sleepovers. Thankfully, they grew closer as time went on, and they are happy to report that they are more inseparable than ever. Caitlyn even served as Jennifer’s Maid of Honor in her wedding! Caitlyn’s Type-A personality is a family trait that’s another reason why Jennifer is the perfect Matron of Honor, she gets stuff done! From single-handedly blowing up hundreds of balloons for Caitlyn’s grand opening at work to being a trusted confidante 24/7, Jennifer is the most loving cousin and supporter Caitlyn could ask for.

Robert Allen

Best Man

Robert and Jonathan couldn’t be more different. Their dad claims Jonathan was the kid you could leave on the floor with two blocks, and he’d have a blast. But leave Robert in the same situation and there’d be 10 blocks (because he broke the original two), a broken window, and Robert would be missing. But there’s something to be said for opposites attract and brotherly love. Robert and Jonathan are tight, and it wouldn’t be a wedding without Robert being front and center. Just don’t leave him alone with anything breakable.

Grace Rebensdorf

Matron of Honor

Caitlyn and Grace met during Caitlyn’s freshman year at the University of Texas at Austin and really got to know one another as members of the university’s spirit group, Texas Darlins. Grace was two years ahead of Caitlyn at the time but didn’t hesitate to take the newbie under her wing. As Caitlyn put it, “I knew that even if I didn’t get into Texas Darlins, this was one person I definitely wanted to be friends with.” Caitlyn and Grace went to Texas A&M law school together, and the rest is history. From college, to law school, then the bar exam, and being a newly licensed attorney, since the day they met they’ve been together for all life’s big moments and Caitlyn was honored to serve as Co-Maid of Honor in Grace’s wedding last year.

Tony Degelia

Groomsman

Tony and Jonathan met on the first day of middle school and became instant buddies because they were each wear-ing the same brand of skateboarding shoes (it’s the little things, folks)! Tony has been a close friend ever since. They were in a band together in their hometown, with Tony as the drummer. Tony even surprised Jonathan for his birth-day several years later by buying him a new pair of shoes — proof that guys can be thoughtful, too!

Jordan Rice

Bridesmaid

We told you the Texas Darlins were well-represented in this wedding party! Jordan and Caitlyn met at UT and lived together for two years in Austin. There are likely plenty of fun stories to share about their adventures from living together, but some stories are probably best left between girlfriends. Jordan is also recently married, and, of course, Caitlyn was one of her bridesmaids. Jordan is the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet.

JT Shelton

Groomsman

There’s nothing better than saying you’ve had a friend since the beginning — literally. JT is that person. They met in daycare and soon became good buddies. Though they went to separate elementary and middle schools, they ended up at Mesquite Horn High School together where they reignited their friendship. JT was never a member of Jonathan’s band, but they soon merged their respective friend circles and have been close ever since.

Cassidy Hundt

Bridesmaid

Cassidy and Caitlyn didn’t meet until Caitlyn got her first big break after law school at a law firm in Denton. Cassidy was already on the staff as an attorney, and the two were quickly paired together for several court proceedings. Cassidy could have easily been standoffish, but as Caitlyn said, “I was learning the ropes, and Cassidy was so incredibly helpful and welcoming. Cassidy is the most easygoing and sweet person.”

Taylor Ludlow

Groomsman

Another long-time friend, guitarist, and singer in the band, Taylor first met Jonathan way back in the third grade. They instantly meshed well because they shared similar goofball personalities, imaginations, and interests. They also spent a lot of their downtime (and perhaps some class time) trying to make each other laugh and compete in numerous games of one-upmanship. Jonathan says, “Yeah, Taylor and I probably got into trouble a few times because of it.”

Amanda Allen

Bridesmaid

A major wish for any soon-to-be husband and wife is that their respective families hit it off immediately. Thankfully, Caitlyn and Jonathan never had to worry about that because they both have the best families EVER. With that said, Caitlyn is gaining an amazing sister-in-law with Amanda! The two have been like two peas in a pod since they first met, and the best part is that Amanda and her husband have recently moved to Denton.

Jonathan “Johnny” Adams

Groomsman

Johnny was the bass guitarist in the band and has been a great friend to Jonathan. They met in middle school while skateboarding and hung out constantly. In fact, Johnny’s house in Mesquite quickly became the be-all-end-all of hangout spots for them and all of their closest friends — much to the chagrin of Johnny’s dad. Johnny is trustworthy, loyal, and an absolute must-have attendee for any wedding party, especially ours.
