Question

Catholic Wedding?

Answer

Yep! There are seven Catholic sacraments: baptism, first reconciliation, first communion, confirmation, holy matrimony, anointing of the sick, and holy orders. Sacraments are special ceremonies that line up with each major life milestone in a Catholic person's life. I, Caitlyn, was Baptized at St. Luke in Temple, Texas as a baby, received first communion and reconciliation at St. Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands, Texas in elementary school, and confirmation at Christ the King in Belton, Texas in high school. Now, I would like to invite you all to my holy matrimony to Jackson at Sacred Hearts Mission in Kapalua, Hawaii. For the sacrament to count, at least one person in the relationship must be Catholic and the ceremony must be officiated by a Catholic Priest or Deacon in a Catholic Church (unless authorized by the Bishop of Hawaii).

Question

What kind of Catholic wedding ceremony is this?

Answer

This ceremony includes a reading from the Old Testament, a reading from the New Testament, a Gospel reading, a nuptial blessing and other essential rituals for the sacrament of holy matrimony.

Question

How long will the ceremony take?

Answer

45 minutes to an hour

Question

Do I need to do anything special?

Answer

Nope! We only request that you respect the church as a holy space. You may see us making the sign of the cross, bowing, genuflecting, kneeling, or saying a prayer. This is regarding the presence of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and all the Saints and angels that have walked before us. Prayers will be recited.

Question

What happens after?

Answer

After Jackson and I walk out of the church, and the officiant follows us out, you can exit the pews. We will greet you outside the church and want to hug you! Then, Jackson and I will get some photos done and will meet you all on the lawn at the Pineapple Chapel for the reception.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Please find the RSVP page on this website and type your name. We have already clustered your group on our end, so you should be able to RSVP for all the names that we listed for you. If you have any questions, please text Caitlyn at 281-799-6767. We want to make sure you all have a seat at our table.

Question

Should I bring my wedding gift to you to Maui?

Answer

No, thank you. We are already packing loads of wedding supplies in our suitcases, and there won't be much room to pack gifts. If you would like to give us a wedding gift, we kindly request that you ship it to our apartment.
