HEARST RANCH WINERY, SAN SIMEON TASTING ROOM
Early Days: Jack, a confident New Hampshirite and Caitlyn, a California girl clicked immediately. Lots of philosophical discussions, hikes and movies happened. Caitlyn was thrilled with Jack's consistency and enthusiasm. Jack planned romantic picnic dates and expertly handled her panic attack just weeks in. We're unsure why Jack stuck around, but he did. Our Usual Nights: Eventually Jack got Caitlyn not just watching, but actively cheering for the Boston Celtics. Jack began to call the players the nicknames she gave them. Caitlyn was upfront with her guilty pleasure of The Real Housewives, and Jack still wanted to date her! Jack jumped in with RHOSLC, repulsed by the "fashion," but enjoying the comedy. Together they began to watch Formula One Racing, Drive to Survive on Netflix, after a recommendation from friends (shoutout Jessee & Jordan!). It combined learning a new sport with Real Housewives level drama. THE PERFECT SHOW for this couple. Adventures: Jack and Caitlyn have been fortunate to have many amazing trips together. Lassen National Park, Fairbanks, Oahu, Santa Cruz, road trip through Oregon, and more. Most of our trips include hiking and enjoying new amazing landscapes. Hopefully an international trip is next! Family: Caitlyn is step mom to two cute kitties. They added Penny, a ham of a golden doodle to the house last year. It has been fun to take care of the little zoo together. Meshing with each others family's has been pretty seamless. Jack's parents are open and nonjudgmental (ahem dad is punk royalty, an original member of The Queers). Diane, Jack's mom, is incredibly kind and also a Real Housewives fan. Caitlyn's parents joyfully welcomed Jack to the family. Jim, connected with Jack- a fellow Seinfeld fan, on movies and East Coast delicacies like duck sauce. Jack was endeared to Cindy at the first meeting when he ordered ceviche without knowing what ceviche is, and gave her a good laugh. Jack describes Caitlyn's parents as fun and generous- the generosity was apparent at their first meeting, when Jim split his steak with Jack once Jack realized ceviche contains fish.
