This adventure began in Thomasville, GA. I was tasked with helping our sister plant with upcoming projects and Cody was the shipping manager. He will tell you that I came storming into the shipping office and started talking to the shipping clerk and my intelligence intrigued him. I remember him being cocky, but I needed his help with combo weights and raw material, so I needed to be nice to him. After a few weeks working together and discovering a mutual love of tacos and margaritas, he invited me to join him for some. Me being me... I figured he invited our group as well since we had all been talking about it. I was wrong, and it ended up being just him and I (even though he was 20 min late). At this point, I am still thinking that this is just a friendly dinner until he starts asking “what I like to do for fun,” “where did you grow up,” “how old are you,” etc. I knew it was a date at that moment and my first thought was “damn Caitlyn you really are oblivious sometimes and you could have at least put in some effort.” Luckily, he did not care and still does not when I look like a hot mess, and I do not care when he thinks that Argentina is a continent. We built our relationship on back roads, wine slushes, and his love of my spaghetti and it continues to grow stronger every day.
