Inspiration
Caitlyn and Alex's wedding is themed after their favorite memories together - all things involving medieval shenanigans and fantasy stories. Guests are asked to dress formally, as they would for most weddings. However, they are also encouraged to partake in the theme of the wedding by adding a medieval and/or fantasy "flare" to their outfit.

Renaissance festival 2024 - Alex and Caitlyn dressed as pirates! Do not wear a costume such as that seen here, but please do add medieval jewelry, a corset, leather belts, or even fishnet tights.
Contemporary with a medieval flare! The wardrobe from A Knight's Tale is perfect to draw inspiration from in terms of textures and style if you want to go all out!
Adding a headpiece like the one seen here on Galadriel from Lord of the Rings would be the perfect fantasy flare for your outfit.

Alex and Caitlyn's first Ren Fest in 2020! Although guests are not advised to wear costumes like the ones seen here, carrying a staff or wearing a cloak with your suit would be the perfect choice!
Whiterun's city center, a place Caitlyn and Alex often visit in the video game, Skyrim. Guests familiar with the game are encouraged to use its setting and music as thematic inspiration.
How to Train Your Dragon is a favorite film of Alex and Caitlyn for its soundtrack and themes. Adding fur, leather, or braids to your hair would be a great way to dress on theme.
Daenerys Targarien and Jon Snow from Game of Thrones could be used as style inspiration too! While guests are not asked to wear costumes, braided hair and furs are the perfect touch!
The dress seen here could be worn by a wedding guest. If that guest chose to participate in the theme of the wedding, they might add a leather belt, a fur over the shoulders, or fantasy-esc jewelry.
A vest can be easily accessorized to fit the theme. Adding an ascot, a pocket watch, or a white frilly "pirate" shirt underneath would be perfect.
This is a more standard wedding guest outfit, but it can still be on theme by adding a headpiece or a renaissance shirt.
This outfit could be easily styled with a sword, jewelry, or a tunic underneath.
Ladies, don't hesitate to wear a corset! This dress is giving both dirndl and medieval vibes and we are here for it 100%.
Bridgerton vibes for sure! Although Bridgerton is a regency-inspired show, these dresses still have a unique element to them with the sleeves and ruffles and would be perfect to wear.
A medieval-looking belt like the one seen here is a simple way to tie in the theme. Throw one of these over a tunic, a dress, or a corseted look.
You're welcome to bring weapons such as swords, daggers and bows. If they are real weapons however, we ask that you keep them sheathed and ziptied together for the reception. No drunken duels allowed.
Leather elements are a fantastic way to achieve that dungeons and dragons adventurer feel; especially if you are carrying potion bottles, a drinking horn, or a water gourd.
If your vibe is more fantasy than medieval, throw on a pair of elf ears and immerse yourself in the world of Lord of the Rings.
