Ryan laid out all the silly post-it notes we had written each other at work, had a bouquet of flowers, and a bottle of champagne waiting for me in the dining room when I got home from work. Unaware of my surprise, I went straight upstairs to get changed into walking clothes and get ready to meet a friend. I came back downstairs, still unaware of anything in the dining room, put on my sneakers and yelled to Ryan that I was leaving. He yelled back asking if I could come out and help him with something and as I walked out to help I saw him down on one knee, ring box in hand and he asked me to marry him.
