Will and I met online when Will was living in Huntsville and I was living in Franklin. We messaged back and forth for a few weeks until I finally decided I would call him. We talked on the phone for over 4 hours and I just couldn't get enough. We talked and messaged each other constantly and didn't meet face-to-face until September 13, 2015 for our first date. Our relationship was long distance for a while but I think that's what made it so great. With us only being able to see each other on the weekends, we mainly had video chats, phone calls, and messaging. This allowed us to get to know each other so much more and made our relationship so much stronger. Will moved to Franklin in April of 2016 and we've been inseparable ever since.
I suggested a trip to Atlanta for Caitlin's 30th birthday. Thankfully, she had no idea that I was planning to propose during this adventure. Now I had to decide exactly WHERE to propose in Atlanta. It just so happened that the Botanical Gardens were having an Alice in Wonderland theme while we were there. I looked on their website, saw a gigantic dragon and I immediately knew what I had to do. The day of the proposal, we walked all around the Botanical Gardens. I had the ring box in my pocket and no idea where this dragon was. While walking around, I almost proposed in a "nice enough" looking spot except that Caitlin power walked through it so I abandoned that idea pretty fast. I finally saw the dragon off in the distance but Caitlin wanted to look at literally everything else under the sun except that damn dragon. I finally convinced her to head towards it. There was a giant lawn in front of the dragon with lots of other visitors. I suggested to Caitlin that she should let me take a picture of her up against the dragon. We moved up close to it and I got out my phone to take a picture. I bent down on one knee, as if I was going to take a picture of her from below, and then I put the phone away and pulled out the ring box. If I remember correctly, she said "REALLY??!!" and immediately everyone on the lawn started clapping. A very nice lady ran up and took my phone from me and video taped the event for us. I proposed and thankfully she said yes!
