A foreign name, a passion for travel, and a charming accent (wishful thinking) - Caitlin just had to swipe right! After weeks of talking, Caitlin and Vilen finally agreed on a first date at Strangeloves, placing dead-last in trivia but having amazing conversation over beers, calamari, and truffle fries.

After only one month of dating, Vilen casually proposed a spontaneous trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to celebrate NYE 2019. Caitlin naturally agreed, thinking this would be a great "make or break" experience. After bopping around Old San Juan, soaking up the sun in Condado, and hiking through Vieques, we both realized that this was the beginning of something special -- but little did we know that our wedding would come three years later on that very same island.

1,000 feet in the air, inside a hot air balloon, with the sun rising over Cappadocia, Vilen got down on one knee. Was it a panic attack from his debilitating fear of heights? Fortunately, no, it was the most beautiful (and courageous) proposal and the easiest "YES!" of her life.
