Caitlin and Shawn met at a Purdue game night after freshman year and quickly became volleyball buddies and study partners. Their friendship flourished through sophomore year, but it wasn’t until junior year, when Shawn showed up dressed as Samuel Adams for Halloween, that Caitlin saw him in a new light. Their first date was delightfully unconventional: building a gingerbread house from scratch, surrounded by flour, laughter, and the kind of chemistry you can’t fake. Just as things were heating up, Caitlin left for London, but love didn’t skip a beat. They reunited for St. Paddy’s Day in Dublin. Little did Caitlin know Shawn would pop the question in Ireland a couple years later. Now they’re road-tripping through life together, testing out southern living in Texas, still cooking up fresh food and fresh adventures—one spontaneous moment at a time.
